Eliminate

The entire purpose of MensWork is to eliminate sexual and domestic violence.  Men who choose to act in abusive or violent ways are not “monsters” or “evil.”  They are men who grew up learning many of the same lessons that many of us as men learn about treating women.  MensWork sees the main focus of eliminating sexual and domestic violence as being the social norms, cultural beliefs, and community attitudes that allow domestic and sexual violence to be seen as a choice by men…a choice that some men act on.

We believe that all men are raised with values that encourage us to respect and honor women.  We work to highlight these cultural messages.  We also believe that men have numerous opportunities to challenge and confront the attitudes, beliefs and social norms that support sexual and domestic violence.  By banding together and working in concert, men, working alongside women, can change our work and eliminate sexual and domestic violence.
